Holi at home

In the current scenario, Holi had become thing of past for me and I am more inclined in working during the holi festival just to earn extra income for myself and family. I have tried to sacrifice just to have money and earn overtime. It is kind of human nature to work during holiday to grab that opportunity. Holi festival is important for us as it adds colours and happiness in our life. It makes us understand the value of relationship and family. Holi celebration can help in living life tension free for some time.

I remember that holi day in good times as a younger kid was so much entertaining and without many restrictions from anyone. I would have the breakfast prepared by mother before the start of this colourful party. My dad would bring potato slice bread and sweets for the family. I would eat them very quickly and then call my cousin to my home so that we can start the preparation for the holi celebration. My mother would give the old clothes which were short and advice me to wear them before going out to play with friends. I would also take a big bucket and pour water in it and mix the golden and silver color. Then I would fill small balloons filled them with water. I would visit my nearby friends and then drive on my small cycle with colours in pocket and picker in my hand. We would wait for people to pass by and throw the colours and balloons. In the evening we would visit the temple and pray to Goddess Laxmi. These are some of my childhood memories of celebrating Holi.I think it is not the right gesture and this year I want to play #KhulKeKheloHoli.

I would also add to my viewers about certain precautions to be taken care while enjoying Holi so that you can play it in a wild and full on masti.I would advise you to make that you must apply some amount of coconut oil to your whole body parts. You must ensure to cover your head with hat or something so that your hair remains protected. You must use some wet cotton and some oil while removing the colours before going for the bath. You must also try to play with colours which are environment friendly and do not harm you as well. Make sure to buy the colours which are good quality and not artificial.

Holi stories

Holi makes me think of my golden days in life. It makes it colourful and lively. It feels very awesome when you see your child playing with colours and spraying water all over the place. It is fun moments like rain dance and covering the body with gulaal and other textures. It is this special day when we see out as immersed and soaked in the multicolors. There are no restrictions and no discrimination on basis of caste or sex and we have freedom to play Holi with any one and this is the main beauty of this amazing festival. Holi gives us the chance to set up a bond within the family members and close relatives. It gives a chance to forget about the past and start once again with a new relationship.

Childhood stage is the best moment of life and we had some fantastic and cool moments during the holi. We used to start the celebration one week before the actual holi day. We would take the colour from the market and would take them in our pocket to school and indulge in playing holi with class fellow and do all naughty things. We would reach home late and our uniform would be full of colours and mom would often scold but still we enjoyed a lot. My sister would prepare seasonal sweets with mom at home and we would go to relatives home and play holi with cousins. We would also exchange gifts and sweets and play holi till the evening. Later in the night we would have a dinner together with our relatives and dance on holi songs from Hindi films.

Now as you see the next generation has arrived and celebration and importance of Holi festival has become little dull. People want to stay away from colours and consider Holi as waste of their important time. They are more interested in using social media and just putting the colours selfie of their own picture and post it on social sites. It is more like a virtual holi festival and people want to wish their family members online. They do not want to visit their family members and just want to celebrate it as a holiday and have a glass of drink. We must do something to bring those old traditional way of celebrating this Holi festival again in same manner. We must take initiative to call out family members again and have that enthusiasm again to celebrate holi.

#MemoriesForLife

Memories stay with you for the life time and there is no one who can take away from you. People with continue to move on and pass away as the time moves on but this is one thing which will be with you forever. Some people live their life with help of the memories of their love ones and thinking about it. We keep on looking at memorable and quality time spend with close friends and family members and expect it to keep on coming back again and again. We sometime have good as well as bad memories as this life and it cannot be just about being happy all the time.

Talking about my life cycle, I have collected so many memories in life which tells about my success and failure. It is also about beautiful days spent with family by going on vacation or certain special occasions like birthday party, anniversary and much more. Then I have seen the days when we had so much of financial problems and had difficulty in sustaining yourself. It was hardship for the whole family and only thing which helped us to overcome this time was over strong bonding of family.

My childhood days take me back to the time when my grandmother use to give me some money daily in order to drink sugarcane juice and buy a candy. She would keep the money aside for me and took me to the market in the evening. Another memory is when all the family members would sit down together Sunday morning and listen to religious stories told by my grandfather. The fun days of childhood have time where we would eat mangoes from the farm directly and walk through my grandfather farm. It was the golden era for me. Another memory is my transition into the city life where we bought our first house. It was two room set and we had a balcony. It was the big moment for us after living on rent for many years. Then I had the moment of my life when my father took us to Jaipur for vacations for the first time and we saw the forts and palaces. It was a trip where I got to learn driving the bike and also riding on camel plus much more.

Coming to recent years, I feel the biggest memories with my family include performing Salsa with my wife on a western music song at my cousin wedding. Another moment is the one where my daughter gave me a wrist watch on my birthday and a surprise party.

Sweet and Magic #MemoriesForLife

I had a discussion with my mom today about some of the unusual memories of life and my mother told me that as a child I could not sleep at night and had fear of darkness and I would cry when having bad dreams. Sleeping me was a big challenge for me. My mother would make sure my fear of darkness did not harm me as she would sing a poem or song for me every night when I would cry. She taught me to get strength and self belief that I can get rid of these fears. It was due to her effort only that slowly and steadily my fear of darkness got less and then one day I got rid of it completely. My other fear was about my results in board exams and had thought that I would not get marks and will not get a good college but my family was the one who told me to relax and I will achieve good results. Her backing and confidence made me to stay strong through those anxious days and gave me way to remove my fatigue. I passed my exams and got good results but I was happier about overcoming all the fear with help of family.

Having a baby is one of the best moments in our life. His entrance in the world changed all the things and has brought immense pleasant and everlasting joy in our life. It is made my relationship with my wife more strong and trustworthy. Changing clothes of my baby and giving him a hug and then his step are certain memories of life to cherish about. Few months back we celebrated his birthday and invited all the close relatives and friend. It was really cool to cut his birthday cake which was in shape of Mickey Mouse.

My memories with family are so many. I want to tell that moment where my brother gifted me my first bike before the college from his hard earned money. His sacrifice for me so that I could continue my studies and excel in life. I have sweet memories of my mother coming to my hostel and helping me to learn the cooking art and also cooking food for my friends. Such moments tell about why family plays a key role in your life and I am really blessed to have such people in my life who are always ready to support me and make me happy. People move from this world but memories stays with you forever.
